Poland Through the Ages
Poland Through the Ages has included a live reenactment of the 1655 Siege of the Jasna Gora Monastery in Poland. The Banner of Jasna Gora portrayed the Shrine’s defenders & the Twisted Knot Company of Pike & Shotte portrayed the pesky Swedes. We have performed 2 battle reenactments on the Saturday & Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend. We usually had 40 reenactors on the field along with cannons, firearms, pikes, szablas, horses, battlefield defenses & more. The Poles are guaranteed to win. The successful defense of Jasna Gora was the turning point in the war. Poland-Lithuania was able to re-group & expel the invaders. The Shrine didn’t fall in 1655 & it will not fall on our watch……
